HOPE-A in NANOTEXNOLOGY 2020

Dear Members and Collaborators,

HOPE-A in collaboration with the Nanotechnology Lab LTFN, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Nano|Net Research and Innovation Network and the Horizon 2020 Projects, Smartline, CORNET and RealNano co-organized successfully for another year the multi-event NANOTEXNOLOGY 2020, which was held for the first time Live and Virtual. NANOTEXNOLOGY 2020 brought together researchers, scientists, engineers, business, technical and policy professionals to promote research and industrial collaborations, identify priorities and strengthen the innovation ecosystem. The participants had the opportunity to attend interesting conferences, workshops and meetings, to be informed about innovations in the field of Nanotechnology, Nanomedicine and Organic and Printed Electronics.

HOPE-A and its members LTFN, OET, BLNanobiomed and Coatema Exhibitors in EXPO20

During NANOTEXNOLOGY 2020 opportunities for exchange of ideas and new collaborations were given as well as within the framework of the exhibition was held the promotion of innovative products by national and international companies that participated.

Our members exhibited their innovative products at NANOTEXNOLOGY 2020 impressing the participants in EXPO20. OET exhibited among others, the OPV Solar Bus Station, the OPV integrated ECO CAR and the OPV Smart Bag, products that are capable of improving or day-to-day activities. The OPV Solar Pergola and the Solar Sunbed, products predominately targeting the tourism industry. Last but not least, the Building Integrated Solar Window, aiming for the building industry. Innovative products against Covid-19 such as an antiseptic hand spray and nanomasks with nanofilters were created by the Nanotechnology Laboratory of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in collaboration with the nanomedical company BL Nanobiomed. For more than 40 years the innovative equipment manufacturer from Germany, Coatema, introduced its latest advancements in lab2fab roll-to-roll and roll-to-sheet manufacturing equipment at NANOTEXNOLOGY 2020.

It was a pleasure EXPO20 to have been visited by prominent public figures, namely the mayor of Thessaloniki Mr. Konstantinos Zervas, the mayor of the municipality of Neapolis-Sykeon Mr. Simos Danielidis, vice-regional minister for development and the environment of central Macedonia Mr. Kostas Gioutikas, and the vice-minister of interior Mr. Theodoros Karaoglou, who were impressed by the innovative and intelligent products as well as their multiple applications.

Participation in CORNET and APOLLON Consortium Meetings in the framework of NANOTEXNOLOGY 2020

HOPE-A and its members LTFN, OET and University of Ioannina are partners in CORNET consortium. On 05.07.2020, the thirty-month Consortium meeting of the European CORNET program took place. During this meeting, in which all project partners participated either Live or Virtual, the progress of the planned activities during the last semester but also the overall progress of the project as well as the next steps until the end of the project were presented.

In addition to this, within NANOTEXNOLOGY 2020, HOPE-A members LTFN, OET, Techlumen Led Lighting and University of Patras participated in NSRF 2014-2020 project APOLLON Consortium Meeting held on 10.07.2020. During this meeting the consortium discussed the overall progress of the project as well as their next steps, enhancing the interoperability and collaboration.

HOPE-A General Assembly

During HOPE-A General Assembly held on 06.07.2020, at the Porto Palace in Thessaloniki, the activities of the Association for the year 2019 as well as the planning of the next period were presented by the President Professor St. Logothetidis. Moreover, the financial report of the Association was presented by the representative of the Audit Committee and the excellent management of the finances of the Association was clearly visible.
